In 2019, I was privileged to finally visit The Messihi School in Amman, Jordan’s capital city. It’s a place I had known about for 2 and a half years beforehand, and a place I had prayed for and supported financially (both of which I continue to do).
I have now experienced first-hand that the school is a very special sanctuary of the Lord. Walking through its doors was like entering a dimension of God’s kingdom here on Earth. The Spirit of God rests tangibly upon this place and upon the people involved in the work.
About 300 children, all Christian refugees, attend the school where they are educated to move on as international students. Through academic excellence and exceptional care, the landscape of these children’s lives and their future is being changed for the better. Many once suffered from PTSD due to their experiences of war, but now they have hope, joy and peace. All the teachers and staff are volunteers, each with a vision to rebuild the lives of these children, to enable them to be the best they can be, and to ensure that their potential is limitless … in Christ.
It is an absolute honour for me to be a part of this ministry through prayer and financial gifts. By spending time at the school, I saw the excellence of Jesus Christ as well as hope for the nations through the very children whose destinies were threatened.
